Penina Championship Course |
Since its opening in 1966, this course designed by Sir Henry Cotton, has played host to the Portuguese Open some 8 times. The course lies on fairly level parkland with tree lined fairways and various difficult water hazards. |
Candidates for signature hole are the tricky 197m, par-3 thirteenth and the dog-leg par-5 fifth played over a canal and a lake. The course includes several long par-3s and par-5s, which always makes for an interesting and challenging game. Facilities include; driving range; putting and chipping green, club hire, trolleys and buggies. |

Penina Resort Course |
Designed by Sir Henry Cotton, this course is superb for developing and improving the short game. The course, above all, requires accuracy. The first 3 holes are all dog-leg, tree lined, par-4s; the 499 m fifth is the only par-5; the par-4 6th has an out of bounds area on the right whilst the seventh is played with a lake to the right and the eighth is well defended by bunkers. |
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying course, whatever your ability. Facilities include golf academy, trolleys and buggies. |
